As we approach another golf season we have been talking about the importance of Tournaments to not only raise awareness of our fine facilities but to also generate additional revenue to support the Club House and Golf Course operations. Tournaments generate significant revenue dollars over the course of the golf season.
This year, we would like to develop a Committee of Volunteers to aid in supporting the various golf tournaments that are held throughout the summer golf season. Member support can make a huge difference to the golf course and in generating non-member play. With the number of events that the BTCC host each year, we have the opportunity to develop lasting supporters and in many cases long lasting friendships. A "Welcome", "Hello" and "Thank You" for participating can go a long way in generating interest in playing our golf course.
There are many roles that we could participate in to support the various golf tournaments that we hold each year. Here are a few examples;
* Score Keepers
* Match play recorders
* Tee box tending
* Ball mark fixes on greens
* Divot repair on the course
* Bag handling
* Golf cart assistance
The list above certainly does not identify everything that could be done to assist during the course of a golf tournament. But we believe that volunteering will demonstrate an engaged membership and aid in promoting the course that we call Home.
Awareness raises interest and hopefully it will promote non-member play. That will aid in keeping our membership rates from increasing dramatically.
