From The Greens Committee
Everyone knows that we had a tough Winter for the Greens and the question is when can we play #9 green and when will the putting green be open? The best answer to that question is when the grass has grown back. When that will be depends on Mother Nature. Tom has re-seeded the green and the good news is that the grass has started to grow. With the good weather that we our having that has accelerated the growing process but we are some time away before the green will be open. If the weather keeps cooperating Tom thinks that we could open it in the middle of June. Opening the green too early could kill the new grass and the whole process would have to start over and nobody wants that. All members will have to show some patience.
I'm a optimist, and we our very lucky that we only lost one green. Some members may not know that there are golf courses close to Bemidji that are closed till June because all the greens were severally damaged or killed completely.
To keep all the members updated on Greens Committee issues and golf course projects there will be updates put up on the locker rooms billboards. If you have questions or concerns feel free to send a e-mail to me at email@example.com, or talk with Tom or Paul.
One last reminder: Fix all ball marks and replace all divots.
