|Bemidji Town & Country Club Online Newsletter - 6/13/16
It is hard to believe that we are already approaching the middle of June. As many of us are starting month 3 of our golf season, I thought it would be appropriate to provide an update on happenings at BTCC.
Our membership numbers appear to be comparable with 2015. We know some people are still returning to Bemidji from their winter residences so we believe our 2016 membership will continue to grow. We are pleased to announce we have 62 new members (54) memberships this year. A list of those members is listed at the bottom of this email. I want to personally welcome each new member and ask all of you to do the same.
Mother Nature was kind to us this past winter and the course is in fantastic condition. Normal course maintenance will be scheduled throughout the summer and will be communicated as it happens. Thanks to Tom and his crew for all of their hard work and dedication. Please help them by continuing to use the seed mixture provided by the Club to repair fairway divots as well as repairing ball marks on each green.
As far as major projects on the golf course, none were planned for 2016. However, I am sure many of you have noticed our cart paths have been deteriorating. We are currently looking at options to update/repair them. As we are just starting this process, more information will be provided later this summer. We do know that if we do anything this year, it will be a late fall project to minimize impact to the course and to play.
Brent, Molly, Jeremy and everyone in the Clubhouse continue to provide great service and the feedback on the menu has been excellent. The number of banquet and reception bookings is a little ahead of 2015. Many of those events will occur in September.
We have been busy updating our facilities and those projects have included a small renovation of the bathrooms at the Half Way House, minor repairs to the Clubhouse and seal coating and re-striping the parking lot. As a friendly reminder, please use the main parking lot when coming to the Club. We have noticed some people have been parking on the grass on the west side of the Clubhouse and ask that we refrain from using that area as a parking area unless it is being used as easier access to the restaurant.
Behind the scenes, our Board and Managers will be beginning the process of updating our policies, procedures and employee handbook. We believe this process will provide our Managers and staff with a better work enviornment which we believe equates to a better experience for everyone associated with the organization, including members.
Lastly, I urge all of you to come out and participate in events. Ladies league is on Monday, Men's league is on Tuesday, Men's day on Thursday and Couples Night is Friday. A Centennial Celebration event is being planned. This event will include golf, social function, a meal and a gift for all participants. More information on this event will be communicated over the next couple of weeks. All events are noted on the Event Calendar on our web site or feel free to call the pro shop for details on any event.
As always, thank you for your continued support. See you on the Course!
