FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
AERATION PROCESS RECAP - We were scheduled to core aerate greens last Monday and Tuesday (June 2-3). The three days prior to Monday, June 12, BTCC received 2.5 inches of rain. Course conditions were soft and the scheduled aeration was cancelled to avoid damaging the greens. It was decided by Rick and I that Tuesday evening and all day Wednesday would be used to aerate. To best accommodate the course conditions, we improvised and used a 1/4" tine vs. a 1/2" tine as originally planned. Aeration was completed with very little disruption to the golfers.

AERATION RESULTS - Aeration was successful. Using a smaller tine will provide faster recovery but please keep in mind it does not do as much for the long term health of our greens. As of Thursday morning, June 12th, we have received another 25 inches of rain which will also help with recovery. The transition back to walk mowing the greens will be dictated by green conditions.
