FROM THE KEYBOARD OF THE PRESIDENT
Hello once again members of BTCC. Summer is flying by much too rapidly. The Birchmont is nearly here already, yikes. The Board of Directors met on July 20th. We certainly covered many issues and concerns. The Long Range planning committee has been asked to seek professional assistance in putting together several proposals for improving the practice facility. A practice facility design expert came to BTCC and met with myself, Paul, Tom and members of the Long Range group. He will be making 3 proposals to us soon. We will study these carefully and decide which, if any, would be practical and affordable for us. We will put the plans on display in the Club House for viewing and seek input from the members. I think it would be wonderful to have a larger practice putting area, a real chipping and pitching area and a driving range that provides the user with useful feedback. Let's see what he comes up with. We also will be considering some serious cart path work this fall.
Our financial picture looks solid. Even with the nasty weather in June, we should meet or exceed the budget projections. Both the golf operation and the clubhouse are doing well. Paul, Tom, Jaime and Gretchen are doing great work in keeping things going strong. We are fortunate to have all of them on our staff. The golf course in in wonderful shape. Our roughs are getting very brown but this is something some good hard rain will cure. I don't mind the extra roll, it deludes me into thinking I am a big hitter.
Thanks to each and every one of you for your continued support of BTCC. Remember, we are just the caretakers of a wonderful golf paradise. By the way, fix those darn divots and ballmarks. Oh, yes, please remember that each member is allowed to purchase up to one extra food assessment with the bonus 10% feature. If you are like me you use up the first one very quickly. It's a great deal for members.
