Exciting News!
At our September 20 board meeting, Rick Grand officially accepted a 12-month position as Head Golf Professional at Bemidji Town & Country Club. Rick will continue working with Paul Grovum over the next few months to make for a smooth transition and start his new position on January 1, 2007. Congratulations to Rick!

Restructuring at BTCC
With the retirement of Paul Grovum, the board decided to research what would best fit the needs of BTCC going forward. A search committee of Ruth Howe, Steve Hill, Paul Welle, Gene Bakke, Marshall Johnston and Scott Robbins was formed and after careful consideration and interviewing of managers and staff brought forward a recommendation to the board. After board review and much discussion, the board adopted the following:

A Management Team would be formed and put in place. This Management Team would be made up of three managers: Pro-Shop, Club House, Course Superintendent and the financial statements previously prepared by Paul Grovum would be put out for bid to local accounting firms. In addition, the "Finance Committee" would need to become more active and be more than one person, like the expectations of the rest of the committees.

Management Team & Chain of Command
Rick, Gretchen & Tom understand and agree to the expectations of working together and making decisions in the best interest of Bemidji Town and Country Club. These three managers will also be required to attend all board meetings and will report directly to their committee chair person:

Rick - Proshop/Membership/Marketing/Tournament Committee Chair
Gretchen - House Committee Chair
Tom - Greens Committee Chair

We ask the following of all board members and membership:
1. Any issue that needs addressing, please put in writing with signature
2. This concern is then given to the respective manager
   (Rick, Gretchen, Tom)
3. If the manager cannot find resolution, the Committee Chair person will be contacted. If resolution cannot be found, the committee for this area will need to meet.
4. If the manager, chair and respective committee cannot find resolution, the issue at that time must go before the board.

Everyone is excited to have the opportunity to take on the necessary responsibility and continue the growth at Bemidji Town & Country Club. Let's all help in the success of this new structure for BTCC by supporting their efforts and enthusiasm.

Employment Changes
We also need to announce that Sharon Pankow-Office Manager, has resigned and taken a new position with Physician's Clinic of Minnesota as an Administrative Office Manager. We want to thank Sharon for her five years of service to Bemidji Town & Country Club and best wishes to her in her new employment opportunity.
