Bemidji Town & Country Club Online Newsletter - 5/24/12

Dear fellow BTCC members,

As we begin 2012, I would like to thank everyone who participated in our 2011 events, planning, meetings and season. Ric Bowman did a great job as President last year and has continued to actively participate as a BTCC member. Thank you Ric!

2011 was a busy year for BTCC. As discussed and presented at the Annual Meeting, we have been working with architect Kevin Norby from Herfort & Norby to help us with improvements on the course. What an exciting and educational process! As many of you have noticed, some improvements started last fall, and have continued into 2012. The changes thus far have been mostly subtle, but very effective. Thank you to the Long Range Planning Committee (Russ Moen – Committee Chair) for all of the work that they have done.

Last year we hosted another season of successful tournaments. The Birchmont and Vandersluis Player numbers were up 8%, and Net Income was up 12%. The Tournament and Pro Shop Committee started this year with a Black Socks Tournament that had 22 members participate and was Lots of FUN. They are actively scheduling several other events/tournaments now, and if you have any suggestions, please contact Don Dale (Committee Chair) with your ideas.

Brent and the House Committee (Jim Smyithe – Committee Chair) decided to open the Club House for Dining the earliest ever this year. Because of the efforts of many, this turned out to be successful. The revenues are up a net of $18,000.00 so far this year. Good decision, Great Job!

As we move forward in 2012, I would encourage our membership to continue their involvement and we would love to see new faces as well. As a board we are always trying to add more value to your membership.

The listing of Board and Committee Members is available on the website at any time. If you would like to participate in any of these areas, please contact the Chair of the respective Committee. We would love your input! You can find the listing at

I want to thank the Board and Committee members for their volunteered time and dedication over the last year. We are all looking forward to another fun and successful year at BTCC!

Tiffany Paine, BTCC President
